Centre for Regional Development

Research

Further information

The Centre has been a prolific producer of reports and studies into various issues, for which a greater understanding is vital to continued successful regional development.

These issues cover four primary areas, although we have covered a considerable diversity of subject matter within these.

Regional and urban policy
The majority of our studies in this area have focused on workplace and labour issues, but sports participation and indigenous matters have also been covered.
Regional and urban planning
Although we concentrate mainly on regional issues, we have produced reports on urban planning in specific areas too.
Environmental planning and management
Our environmental projects have had a particular emphasis on coastal and marine management, but we have also investigated solar power generation in the Wheatbelt.
Regional economic and social analysis
From WA's Great Southern to its North West, and beyond to the Philippines, our analyses have canvassed topics as diverse as the arts, ageing communities, and youth education.
